For the record, St Anne’s is a remarkable parish filled with the energy of God’s love and joy. We celebrated yesterday…we celebrated our high school seniors and one of St Anne’s own shared her reflection of what the parish has meant to her and her family and how faith has become the center of her life! We celebrated together as we prayed God’s blessing upon all of our graduates.
We also celebrated as we awarded the Galaty scholarships to five parishioners for post secondary education! But wait, there’s more…it was the end of the academic year and we honored our Sunday School teachers, our Choir, our Bell Choir, our Contemporary Music Team, and Clarice - our organist.
Prior to the offertory, we were reminded of one of our important outreach ministries, Ecumenical Partnership for Housing (EPH). An important ministry that enables families to move from homelessness to independent living.
And at the offertory the choir sang a wonderful song of benediction for the Mills family as we depart on the camino…And at the end of the service, in a way that only could happen at St Anne’s the choir strategically hi-jacked the service to bid us Buen Camino…by singing a rousing rendition of “Happy Trails”, and the entire congregation joined in! What a great time!
And then we departed the sanctuary for the fellowship hall where John Eggers and crew worked his culinary magic and we enjoyed a truly sumptuous meal of turkey, roast lamb, and all the fix’ns. What a remarkable send-off and time of fellowship we enjoyed together.
And so, I wake up this morning and the entire sabbatical lays before me…stay tuned!
Happy Trails!
